Verify Your Pregnancy with an Ultrasound
Discovering that you are pregnant is an overwhelming feeling for most women. If you were not expecting to become pregnant, you may feel downright terrified. That’s okay! These are commonly experienced emotions, and it’s normal to be unsure about what to do next. Fortunately, we are here to help! The next step after a positive pregnancy test is to have a limited ultrasound performed. At Bella Women’s Center, we offer limited ultrasounds completely free of charge.
What Do Ultrasounds Do?
An ultrasound can also detect an ectopic pregnancy, which occurs when the pregnancy develops outside of the uterus. This condition is dangerous, so it is important to identify as early as possible. Even though pregnancy tests are 99 percent accurate, they do not guarantee that you have a viable pregnancy. The only way to find out for sure is to have a limited ultrasound. Regardless of which option you are considering for your pregnancy (including abortion), it is important to have an ultrasound. An ultrasound is the best way to give you valuable information about the pregnancy, including the pregnancy’s gestational age, and if it is developing in the uterus. An ultrasound can also indicate whether you may miscarry, which happens to approximately 10 to 20 percent of all known pregnancies.
